The Wet Tropics World Heritage Area surrounding Ngorongoro Lodge is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife. From colourful birds to unique marsupials, our rainforest sanctuary offers unforgettable encounters with nature.

Our property attracts a stunning variety of birds including the iconic Cassowary, Kingfishers, Riflebirds, and many species of parrots and lorikeets. Early morning is the best time to spot our feathered friends.

Keep an eye out for tree kangaroos, possums, and wallabies that visit our gardens. At night, you may spot sugar gliders and various species of bats that call our rainforest home.

The rainforest is home to beautiful pythons, skinks, and various frog species. The chorus of tree frogs at night is a quintessential rainforest experience.
